Xunji
Xunji is an app for calligraphy and painting restoration — a domain where professional knowledge has traditionally stayed within workshops and conservation labs. The professional version uses machine learning to map and categorize physical damage — tears, stains, fading — and generate standardized diagnostic reports for restoration planning. A public version on the App Store opens the same analytical logic to enthusiasts, with a technique-learning module built around traditional repair methods like wash-painting and inpainting. The color analysis system deconstructs paintings into compositional palettes, making the relationship between pigment degradation and visual integrity legible. The tool started from a real workflow problem in cultural heritage; the education layer followed naturally.
